We enrolled our kid at bvm global trichy in Dec 2015, thanks! they enrolled us in Dec, but they charged us full term fees around Rs.1,00,000 for last 4 months of the academic year.

Lets see some of the pros and cons of this school

Pros:
1. Safety for your kids, once you drop your kids they will take care of your kid with utmost safety.
2. Maximum of 25 students per class room, only one or two class have 40 kids in a class room.
3. Classrooms are spacious with A/C & fans.
4. Here they give receipt for all payments and payments can be made online.
5. Morning and evening prayers in the classroom

Cons:
1. Most of the middle school Teachers in bvm global trichy are INCOMPETENT. Only one effective MATH teacher there, she too got additional responsibility and unable to focus on effective MATH teaching.
2. English teachers does not know spelling for simple words.
3. Tamil teachers teach Tamil from KONAR TAMIL NOTES, they emphasis students to buy KONAR NOTES, they won’t teach from Tamil syllabus book.
4. Music, Robotics teachers mostly engage the designated periods without teaching Music or Robotics.  Kids will mostly play or chit chat in those periods.
5. No separate LIBRARY in this school, LIBRARY is part of 4th Grade classroom and if your kids want to lend books they have to come  Saturday during the Library period. No previous year question papers in Library.
6. Classroom has 2 A/Cs most of time both will be in Switched OFF. If you kids want to Switch ON the A/C they have to come and contact the watchman in the ground floor.
7. No TREES, if you ask them to plant TREEs, they say to water them we incur additional expenses.
8. No SHED for parking kids bike or two wheelers.
9. Physical Education teachers are not FIT, they won’t teach Games or Sports during the sports periods, they allow kids to play “oodi pudichu” RUN & CATCH games for middle schools kids and they will stand on shade.
10. For Sports Day, Republic Day & Independence Day parade practices these Physical education teachers pull middle school kids during class hours and practice them for the parade during Mid day in the Scotching Sun.  Your kid will come home like a burned wood after the parades.
11. During Sports Day kids where asked to sit in the scotching sun, since there is no separate multipurpose room in this school, they arrange few benches, cover them with clothes and the Chief Guest and the Principal will sit on the temporary stage.
12. During “Raksha bandhan” school will arrange a bus and take middle school kids to nearest BSF office and ask the kids to tie the “Rakhi” to BSF Jawans, as per the tradition the Jawans thank the kids and give them return gifts, some will give cash, some Jawans will give Pencil, Pen etc.  Once the kids ties the Rakhi and retuned to the bus, all the teachers accompanied the kids ask each and every kid to give all the cash, gifts they got from those Jawans.  I don’t know what they will do with those gifts and cash.
13. Principal will always sit in his office.  He will be under three tier protection, If you want to see the Principal first you need to sign the register, then they will ask you see Office In-charge an unethical, biased, backbiting women, she will ask you all the details if she is not able to provide answer then she will get permission from the Principal and finally call you inside to meet the Principle. 
14. Principle will never allow you to talk. Its a one way communication always.  He talks and you need to listen.
15. If you want to talk to the class teachers, you have to come between 3PM to 4PM.  They don’t have email, whatsapp or phone access. 
16. Teachers compare marks of the kids and discuss the marks of the students in the class room openly and make you kid feel miserable in-front of others if they scored little less.
17. SA1/SA2 questions will be discussed secretly without even informing the kids during the revisions and kids mug up those questions and score high marks.
18. If you are travelling and want to get TC in the mid of the year, you need to pay full term fees to get the TC.
19. In order to keep the strength they will send a cut-off date in January for applying TC, if you miss the cut-off date you need to pay next year half term fees to get the TC.
20. If you are an NRI, want to enrol here you need to get TC from previous school, get it ATTESTED in the Indian Consulate otherwise they won’t give TC when you leave this school after a year of study.
21. Every year they arrange for Foreign tour to Australia & Singapore, one of the kid attended Australia Tour said they booked MOTEL at Perth for the Kids to stay and didn’t spend much for the kids during the tour.

Overall bvm global trichy is an extended day care for kindergarteners, elementary, middle & high school kids with safety but if you expect QUALITY, STANDARDS & EXCELLENCE in EDUCATION THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT SCHOOL. 

There is difference between Really being Smart & acting Smart.  Bvm global trichy acts as if they are SMART but in reality they are not.

Bvm global trichy focus mainly on Money Making, Cost cutting, getting High fees and spending little for the cause of Education.

Protect your identity online, browse safe

After moving back to my own Country from United States of America, i tried couple of sites on my homeland, they are either blocked or that particular feature in that site is not accessible from my Country, they restricted the access only to US locations.

After spending sometime online found ZenMate Plugin for Firefox. Using this plugin you can protect your identity, browse safe, change your Country of preference and your traffic is encrypted as well.

You may be in your homeland browsing a site and if you want the traffic from your connection has to appear as USA to the serving host, you just need to have ZenMate Plugin and set your location in ZenMate. You can change your location to USA, Hong Kong, Romania, or Germany these options are available for free for rest of the Countries you need to have Premium plugin.

I tried google.com/voice and want to port my mobile number to my google voice number on google Chrome browser as in Fig1,  it seems the porting option is available only to US locations and the error message also is not very clear, then I tried the same url with ZenMate plugin enabled on Firefox and changed my location to USA as in Fig 2, the porting option was going through fine and Im not getting any error message from google voice :-) as in Fig.3

Compared to VPN & other proxy sites, ZenMate seems to be a great option. Enjoy!

Setting up Elasticsearch in AWS instance (single node)

Setting up Elasticsearch(Single node) instance in AWS is pretty simple.

Download and install Jdk1.7
apt-get install openjdk-7-jre

Download elasticsearch zip file
wget https://download.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/elasticsearch-1.7.1.zip

Install unzip
apt-get install unzip

Uncompress the elasticsearch-1.7.1.zip file
unzip elasticsearch-1.7.1.zip

Goto the bin folder and start the instance
cd ~/elasticsearch-1.7.1/bin

./elasticsearch &

You can test the setup by using curl or open the http://localhost:9200/ in a browser

By default elasticsearch will be pointing to port 9200. This port number 9200 need to added in the Security group of your AWS instance as a inbound custom TCP Rule.

Package installer for mac

Brew is a package installer for Mac, which saves lot of my time during package installation. Suppose i want to install Apache Tomcat on my Mac, i can just do

brew install tomcat

brew will search the suitable package for my mac, download & install on my mac. I don't need to manually search & download the installable package for tomcat.

Its very easy to install brew on your mac using the below ruby command, open a terminal window and execute the below ruby command. It will download & install brew on your mac.

office email for communication not for cursing

     Office email is just for communication and for business use, but some of the so called leads in the team misuse their email and send foolish content in their email.

     In the year 2006 we were working in an office in Augusta, Bangalore. One of the so called lead use to irritate every team member in the team by cursing individuals in the team and using harsh words in his email above all he will copy the entire distribution list and the client people as well.

     Once he sent an  email to the whole distribution list copying the System Out logs, using Times New Roman, with size 18, bold, he has typed "System.out.println()" in Red color and saying "i am tired of telling this to you guys don't put System.out.println in the java code, you guys are doing it again, remove them asap",  this mail was copied to the client manager as well, seeing this email the whole team was stressed and depressed. On the other hand what the client manager will think about the team? this guy went to onsite from our company and degrading the team in front of the client from onsite. How come client will have confidence in the team?

     On another occasion, he want to save his friend staying with him in Charlotte, NC, so he sent a list of concerns with me in his email, putting false blame on me for which his friend was responsible for, and copying the whole group. Later i came to know the issue was caused by his friend staying with him.

    This guy is a classic example for poisonous team member, he used his office mail mostly for cursing the team and never used for constructive purpose. This sort of guys in the team are poisonous to the team and they kill the morale of the team instead of boosting it, because of him so many team members left the job and moved to other companies.  

     This guy lacked the basic culture and doesn't know the email etiquette, even though he can code in java, he can't do and deliver the whole project by himself, he thinks he is the one doing everything in the team, but its not the case, each and every member in the team is responsible for the success of the project and contributed from their part, he never understood the feelings of the individuals, he treated every member in the team as a bonded labor.

     The HR team in the company should take strong action against such poisonous team members in the team and save the organization from this foolish people.

     Lets use office email for the purpose its meant for, every member in the team is valuable lets not hurt or offend the team members by using harsh words. Words once uttered can never be taken back and they will leave a lasting scar on the person who received it.
